Some of you might know that I am loading this blog from Santa Cruz Quiche, Guatemala where I have been blessed to join Agape in Action and Operation San Jose Mission Project. I had been praying for the opportunity to serve with my camera… low and behold, I was connected with a great missions agency and a wonderful team of surgeons, doctors, and nurses. Today, I was an eye witness to selflessness and servanthood when the medical team evaluated roughly 30-40 patients for cleft palate an cleft lip surgeries. Hopefully I will be able to capture the trip and tell the story well so that you can follow the team throughout the week. I am thankful to be here and honored that I get to see talented people give children new smiles!
Meet Jessica Edquist (pink shirt), she is my long-time friend and Chief Operating Officer of Agape in Action. You could mistaken her for Angelina Jolie, roaming through the streets of developing countries, looking for kids to love on. I love to watch her in action.
We were able to go into town today for the local market. I wanted to load just a few to show how colorful the afternoon was!

These are just a few of the many patients that have come from all over Guatemala, hoping for the chance that they will be a candidate for surgery. For some of the children it will be their first and for other it will not.
